n 1896, a group of farmers had a desire to insure their property against loss, forming Farmers Fire Insurance Company of Sullivan County*. Over the past 125 years, the needs of our policyholders have changed. We have and will continue to adjust and grow with those changing needs. In 2003, the name of the Company changed to East Tennessee Mutual Insurance Company. With the name change came expanded coverages.
Today, we still offer the fire insurance for farms and dwellings, and now also offer a full Homeowner Policy. The Company still follows the values of its original founders by being honest and providing our policyholder's with a personal touch and ``peace of mind``. In order to grow with the demanding needs of today's policyholders, the Company formed East Tennessee Mutual 1896 Agency so we are now able to offer Auto Insurance. Our desire is to remain a strong viable company well into the future.
